Whiplash is a super-exciting chart in 7/4 composed by Levy and arranged by Erik
Morales.
Dont be intimidated by the meter, after a few minutes it feels quite natural and
the students
will totally eat it up. The melody is stated by 2nd trumpet and 1st alto with

with easy chord changes. Articulation is critical and the rhythm section may
want to spend some

Originally a pop hit for The Police in the
'80s, Mike Tomaro uses extensive
reharmonizations and creative timbral
shadings in this marvelous adaptation.

Gordon Goodwin - Grade 5
Its funky with all the Big Phat Band attributes, and its fairly tough to play,
but hey,
its Gordon and you know it will be a hot chart if you have the horses.
