The Hal Leonard Student Piano Library has great music.
It's that simple. Great music means motivated students,
inspired teachers and delighted parents. You couldn't ask
for better results! We've combined wonderful music with
solid pedagogy and an innovative approach to learning, to create a winning method for
everyone. It's a method that encourages practice, progress, confidence, and best of all -
success! Students respond with enthusiasm to the variety of styles and moods,
natural rhythmic flow, singeable melodies and lyrics, exceptional teacher accompaniments,
improvisations threaded throughout the series, Instrumental Accompaniments for
every piece available on CD or General MIDI disk, supportive supplementary materials
graded to complement the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library, including: fantastic
seasonal music, solo and ensembles songbooks, and helpful teaching aids.
When new concepts have an immediate application to the music, the effort it takes
to learn these skills seems worth it. Teachers appreciate realistic pacing that
challenges without overwhelming, clear and concise presentation of concepts and
uncluttered page layout that keeps the focus on the music.

Music For Little Mozarts
by Christine H. Barden, Gayle Kowalchuk & E. L. Lancaster
Students follow the adventures of Beethoven Bear and
Mozart Mouse from the playroom to the recital stage as
they learn about music using the Music for Little Mozarts
piano method. The full-color characters come alive with
real stuffed animals available with this series.
Music for Little Mozarts
truly integrates age-appropriate
piano instruction with musicianship activities that promote
overall musical development.
There are four levels in this complete series and three main
books at each level: the Music Lesson Book, Music Discovery Book and Music Workbook.
A CD or General MIDI recording, Flash Cards, plus Recital, Coloring and Holiday books
at all four levels are available, as well as an Assignment Book, Teacher’s Handbooks

Willard Palmer, Morton Manus & Amanda Vick Lethco
The wonderment of childhood is captured in each page
of this cheerful piano method for very young beginners
age five and up. Full-color and lovable character illustrations
enhance each lesson along with tuneful melodies that take
into consideration the reach of smaller hands. The Prep Course is a well-balanced and
complete curriculum in six levels: Levels A, B, C, D, E and F-enough to cover about
three years of study for the average student. Following Prep Course Level F,
students smoothly transition into Level 3 of Alfred's Basic Piano Course.

Basic Piano Course
Exploring the piano and its boundless possibilities with
seven- or eight-year-old new students is one of the real
joys of teaching. Watching their musical skills develop
|over a period of many years is both fascinating and
rewarding. The Basic Piano Course is the ideal piano
method for building long-term camaraderie between
students and teachers. Its easy step-by-step approach emphasizes correct playing
habits and teaches note reading through interval recognition. It provides a complete
curriculum spanning seven levels: Levels 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. For reinforcement,
supplemental material is coordinated page for page, enabling teachers to custom-fit
their instruction to each student.

Later Beginner Piano Course
When eight-, nine- or ten-year-old students begin piano lessons,
they need to feel they are progressing more rapidly than younger
students. So we created a series with a spark of sophistication for
later beginners over the age of 8. The accelerated pacing still
features the careful instructional sequencing and attractive
design of the regular Alfred's Basic Piano Course, but presented
in a more condensed fashion. It is a well-balanced and complete
curriculum that is sure to please even the most progressive crowd.

All-In-One Course
Some teaching studios are so busy, it takes an experienced
captain at the helm to keep all of the lesson assignments straight.
Now you can sail into smoother waters by simplifying lesson
procedures with Alfred's Basic All-in-One Course-using one
book. We've taken all of the pages from Lesson Books 1A
and 1B plus selected pages from Theory, Recital and Fun Solo Books and combined
them into a sequential series of five self-contained books. Teacher assignments are
simplified, and students do not need to carry multiple books to lessons.

Adult Piano Course
The method of teaching beginning adults must necessarily be
different from a presentation for beginning children. Alfred's Basic
Adult Piano Course is the most popular of all adult courses because
it provides a stimulating curriculum and a wide variety of musical
pieces that especially please adult students. Alfred's Basic Adult
Course Books 1, 2 and 3 thoroughly teach chords (in both hands),
the circle of 5ths, chord inversions, major and minor scales and
much more. A huge selection of correlated supplementary books is published,
providing adults with the ability to totally personalize their studies. Also available
is the Adult Piano Course Software for Windows, Audio Recordings,
and Interactive Accompaniment Disks.

wpe15752.gif (12051 bytes)Adult-All-In-One Course
The All-in-One Adult Course is designed for adult beginners looking
for a comprehensive piano course that includes lesson, theory, technic
and popular repertoire in one convenient, all-in-one format. The course
is now available for Levels 1, 2 and 3. Pupils will develop agility and
flexibility of the hands to keep pace with their musical comprehension.
At the completion of this course, students will have learned to play
some of the great masterworks of piano literature and will have gained a
thorough understanding of the basic concept of music. General MIDI disks provide a valuable
opportunity to play along with professional- sounding accompaniments of every piece
from all three books.

The Bastien Piano Library
by James & Jane Smisor Bastien

Invitation to Music
Sensitive and inspired teaching of early childhood students
is a very satisfying and joyful experience for both parents
and teachers. Ensure the success of these very special
students with the Bastiens’ Invitation to Music series, an
exciting introduction to the marvelous world of music.
No reading or writing readiness is presumed; all necessary
skills are developed gradually in successive levels of instruction. The Bastiens’
Invitation to Music
series uses a gradual multi-key approach, guiding children from
pre-staff notation to staff reading. Illustrations and activities that are fun and instructional
enhance learning and heighten interest. Ideal for children 4 and up.

Piano For the Young Beginner
Because younger beginners (ages 5 – 6) need a little extra
attention, Bastien Piano Basics provide primer level books
specifically geared toward these special students. Piano for
the Young Beginner (Primers A and B) and Theory & Technic
for the Young Beginner (Primers A and B) gently and meticulously
introduce young beginners to the world of music, using bright,
happy melodies; fun, clever lyrics; and absolutely irresistible illustrations. Pre-reading
material precedes a traditional middle C approach. Upon completion of all four of these books,
five and six-year-olds are ready to progress into Level 1 study in the Bastien Piano Basics.

wpe22133.gif (8769 bytes)Piano Basics
The Bastien Piano Basics method is comprised of five
completely correlated course books — PIANO, THEORY,
PERFORMANCE, TECHNIC, and A LINE A DAY SIGHT
READING. Bastien Piano Basics Basics uses a gradual
multi-key approach, with reading beginning in the C
five-finger position. Five levels of carefully graded lesson
material provide constant opportunities for reinforcing basic concepts. It's the smoothest,
most heart-warming, most entertaining, most musical way to teach eager youngsters the
joys of playing the piano. And comprehensive, page-by-page correlation makes
Bastien Piano Basics remarkably easy to teach!

Teenagers and adults make rewarding, but challenging, beginning
students. The Bastien’s Older Beginner Piano Course was written

at numerous colleges! The harmonic chord approach used in The Older Beginner
Piano Course
is ideal for students who want the feel of "making real music" from the start.
